I Believe

A poem by my wife Deidre Rogers

I believe what we say in the Creed,
And I believe You meet every need.
I believe You’re there when I call
And I believe that You love us all.

I believe You comfort the sad.
I believe You bring good out of bad.
I believe in Your mighty power
That raises the dead – and makes a flower.

I believe in miracles, today as well as Biblical.
I believe that You still heal –
I know, O yes, I know I that it’s real!
I believe in the truth of Your Word –
The greatest thing that I’ve ever heard.

I believe that we owe it to you
To live our lives completely anew,
To give ourselves without counting the cost,
In obedience to You, who redeemed the lost.
I believe in the Lord of Lords,
The King of Kings, the Almighty God.
